Classical Music Kids

Helping Teachers and Parents Inspire Kids to Love Classical Music

Welcome to Classical Music Kids

Every lesson plan on this site comes out of classroom experience. Dr. York began teaching K-8 general music in 1998 and has taught every elementary grade level since — recorder units for third graders, classroom guitar for sixth graders, general music for K-4, and choral programs for school liturgies and community concerts. She wrote the first Grades 1-6 music curriculum for Zurich International School under the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme framework, and delivered general music curriculum at the United Nations International School integrating IB frameworks and global repertoire.

Carly knows what a forty-minute class period feels like with twenty-six second graders and no prep time. These lesson plans are built for teachers who need resources immediately.
